The Soul Colors Project
This artistic project is about creating a large collection of images, interviews, and personal stories that affirm all varieties of gender identities, and sexual expressions, while communicating to all viewers the value and importance of self-identification.
Our goal is to tell the stories of real individuals with a focus on those that identify as LGBTQIA+. We want to elevate and honor their self-expression and inspire understanding and acceptance. We believe art has the power to unite us despite cultural differences and hope that all people will be able to see themselves in the individuals that are featured here.
To do this, each person collaborates with our team, Irene Jones (Photographer) and Scott Provo (Stylist), to design a photo shoot that is representative of the individual and accessible to the general public.
Each person featured is interviewed before their photoshoot. Those interviews and the images created are listed in the Features tab. Additionally, each person writes a personal introduction to accompany their feature and adds their signature.
We believe that acceptance comes through personal contact. It is our wish that these stories and images will be a gateway to greater mutual respect and affirmation within our society.
